A Cross-Party Commitment to Accelerating Sustainable and Impactful Housing Development Through Regeneration & Levelling Up

The Parliamentary Liaison Group for Regeneration & Levelling Up is a cross-party initiative dedicated to fostering positive change in the regeneration and levelling up landscape across the United Kingdom, with a particular focus on boosting housing supply in a sustainable and impactful manner. By bringing together parliamentarians, industry experts, and key voices, we aim to address the pressing need for more affordable, inclusive, and environmentally friendly housing across the country.

Our Mission:

At the heart of our mission lies a shared vision for a vibrant and equitable country, where every individual has access to quality housing that meets their needs and aspirations. We firmly believe that regeneration and levelling up initiatives hold the key to unlocking this potential, not just by increasing the supply of housing but also by ensuring that key factors to success such as investment and infrastructure are addressed in a joined up way.

Encouraging Inclusive Housing Options

We believe that access to affordable and quality housing is a fundamental right that should not be dictated by socioeconomic status. We advocate for policies that promote mixed-tenure developments, including social housing, affordable housing, and private ownership, to ensure that housing options are accessible to all.

Streamlining Planning and Development Processes

We recognise that excessive bureaucracy and regulatory hurdles can impede the development of much-needed housing. We work with policy makers to identify and address these challenges, advocating for a streamlined and efficient planning and development process that empowers developers to build more housing units.

Empowering Local Communities

We believe that regeneration and levelling up initiatives must be rooted in community engagement and empowerment. We advocate for participatory planning processes that involve local residents in decisions that affect their neighbourhoods, ensuring that housing development aligns with the needs and aspirations of the community.
